About SINAG Filipino Martial Arts
Professional experience
I teach the fundamentals of Filipino Martial Arts (FMA). FMA, often associated with Kali, Arnis, or Eskrima is a weapon-based art that covers a variety of weapons from sticks and swords, to knives and other situational weapons, with empty-handed fighting as a back-up. Learning Filipino Martial Arts will allow one to develop situational awareness, proper motions that will allow you to use almost anything as a weapon, self-confidence, and discipline. Street survival situations will often involve weapons, from knives to glass bottles. FMA helps you prepare for these situations by familiarizing you with its use. It also helps you utilize everyday objects as weapons. It is an art that will allow you to translate one set of motions to other weapons or even empty hands. FMA can also compliment other martial arts and is often a good art to study by experienced martial arts practitioners who wants to expand their knowledge. The flow in Filipino Martial Arts can help practitioners of other arts transition smoothly from one movement to another. Moreover, it will also give them a better familiarization of the range involving weapons. For those who are interested, I hold semi-private classes in Bacoor, Cavite and in the Universtiy of Santo Tomas, Espanya, Manila. Private classes in nearby areas are also available. I focus mainly on the basic movements of Filipino Martial Arts, allowing individuals to develop their own expressions of the art, with latter applications on sparring and survival situations. The training program may also be customized to suit the needs of the client.
