    Keep It Simple Services is designed to be the ideal place where one can learn to deal with the problems and pains caused by substance dependency in a manner and setting that is least painful and enjoyable, with safety and health as our primary concern for full Family Recovery. We also believe that it is a family illness for as the substance dependency runs its course over months and years; it is a very painful period for the addict/alcoholic and the co-dependents (co-addicts). Hence, the need for the addict and their co-dependents to undergo treatment together. Substance dependency is a chronic, progressive and fatal disease (Disease means involuntary disability). This is characterized by impaired control, pre-occupation, and continued use despite severe adverse consequences and distortions in thinking, most notably denial and rationalization. Denial is used here in the broad sense to include all of the range of psychological maneuvers developed with dependency, which reduce awareness of the fact that alcohol and drug use is the main cause of an individual’s problems. Each family member plays a vital role in the recovery of the substance dependent, as they are considered co-dependents. A co-dependent covers up for the behavior of the substance dependent, enabling him/her to continue a self-destructive pattern, without being aware of such. Unfortunately, the extent of the problem on substance dependency and alcoholism is hardly recognized. Asking for help is stigmatized or pre-judged. As the disease of substance dependency runs its course over months and years, it is a very painful period for both the addict/alcoholic and the co-dependents (co-addicts). As the personality of the substance dependent person change for the worse, so does that of the family members and others close to the addict/alcoholic. Eventually they all end up physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally bankrupt. Both the dependent and co-dependent end up in pain, and feeling angry, afraid, ashamed, guilty and frustrated.
